PREVENTATIVE TREATMENTS:

Our preventative treatments are key to keeping you pest free!

What does a preventative treatment consist of?

A preventative treatment is an application of a product to the interior and/or exterior of a structure that forms a protective barrier against pests. Pests that come into contact with this barrier will pick up tiny particles of the active ingredient and will soon succumb to it's effects.
An exterior spray treatment is typically applied 3' up the structure, 2' out on surrounding grass, mulch, rocks, etc., and around all doors, garage doors, windows and access panels We also spot treat roof overhangs where yellow jackets and paper wasps tend to nest.
Our spray treatments will not harm any plants or shrubs surrounding the structure. However, we do not apply product to any plants grown for human consumption or any currently flowering plants as we do not want to harm any pollinating insects.
Interior treatments are performed on a case-by-case basis. Typical interior treatments range from garages, basements and crawl spaces to full interior treatments. Full interior treatments usually target all previously mentioned areas as well as performing a crack and crevice treatment on baseboards, doors and windows. Usually an interior treatment is only recommended if there is a current pest issue inside the structure. It has been observed that, if there are no current pest issues on the interior, a contracted 3x/yr exterior preventative treatment plan provides sufficient protection to prevent pests from establishing themselves inside a structure. Therefore, we don't believe it is necessary to continually perform interior preventative treatments if there are no pest issues. We can always schedule an as-needed interior treatment if a situation arises.

How long do your products last?

Most of our spray treatments are labeled to protect for up to 3 months. Of course environmental impacts such as rain and UV rays can decrease that lifespan. This is why we stock some of the most highly rated products by pest professionals and encourage our clients to sign up for a contracted 3x/yr preventative treatment plan.
Pesticide dust treatments have the potential to last indefinitely. Pesticide dust treatments are usually suggested to use in areas where people and pets cannot access such as: gaps between siding, gaps in rock walls/foundations, soffit voids and unused crawl spaces. We stock several different pesticide dust products to meet the specific need that you may have, whether you need long lasting protection in an unused crawl space or a quick knockdown product for yellow jackets in a soffit void.

You said they were safe but does it stink?

We have been careful to select products for your interior that are low-no odor. Most of our clients never notice an odor when we treat the interior, however, some people are more sensitive than others.
Unfortunately, some of the products we choose to use on your exterior do have an odor. This odor usually dissipates within an hour or two once the product has dried sufficiently. The odor is no where near as offensive as most herbicide treatments and, to most, is not offensive at all. Sure, we could use a product with low-no odor on your exterior if needed, but the results and residual effects aren't the same.
